What is the difference between Telemarketing and Telesales?
Both telemarketing and telesales are proactive direct marketing methods to entice prospective customers to buy your products or services.
Telesales is used to sell a company’s products or services over the phone, and includes cold calling new prospective customers or calling active or dormant customers. With telesales the focus is on closing the sale over the phone.
Telemarketing includes contacting, qualifying and canvassing prospective customers over the phone. With telemarketing the focus is normally broader than telesales and targets prospects earlier in their sales journey, before they are ready to buy. Telemarketing can be used for lead generation, appointment setting, relationship building or market research.
